“Designers need somewhere great to work to do their best work - be it a desk with 4 huge screens and a mountain of technical equipment or a laptop sat in your garden it helps the creative process along. Here we scour the internet for examples of workspaces; some good, some bad, some cluttered, some clean - we take a nosey at where we people are doing their work …” - via tutorialblog.org

Microsoft announces “Microsoft Surface” - read more here.
If its new to you then its new right? That seems to sum up multi-touch devices today. Since the recent unavailing of the iPhone it almost feels like Apple invented a new form of interaction - but far from it. The road had been paved with massive amounts of R&D for many years now.

So recently I went to a gallery opening in support of my talented skateboarder / filmer / bartender / photographer / producer cousin, Mr. Marshal ‘Stack’ Reid. While I was in there, I ran into the whole Manik / Goods / Luxe Riot crew and got the latest haps.

You know it’s that time of year again, the time when you stay up baking cookies, cross your fingers, and set out milk the night before Christmas all in the hopes Santa put you on the nice list. He’s been making a list and checking it twice, and lucky for him, you get really excited about a measly 20GB more storage than your last ipod. Hektor is a “Spray Paint Output Device” - basically it’s a personal programmable graffiti tagger. Not only that but you can make your own, program it, and spray paint away - kick ass!
All you need is to grab a copy of Scriptographer, string up Hektor, and you’ll be on your way the throwing the coolest parties on the block.

Research via the web - the value of experience
I can’t say it’s all perfect, but chances are I’ve received most of my info from blogs/boards/forums. I bought a few books here and there, but nothing beats proven experience. Here are a few sites that made me jump on the blog-wagon

Ok, I’ll say it again, FINALLY! Over the past year of working with Craig I have seen one version of the website prior to this one. While each has had its own style, I am happy to see ONE live. While we can all agree the content is top notch, the latest Section Seven Inc. website takes a fresh approach to content presentation that has caused some common points to crop up all over the net. Size, load time, project details, navigation. Which of these can be be overlooked and which can’t be ignored..
