iMac Killer!?

HP IQ770 Crossfire

You know it’s that time of year again, the time when you stay up baking cookies, cross your fingers, and set out milk the night before Christmas all in the hopes Santa put you on the nice list. He’s been making a list and checking it twice, and lucky for him, you get really excited about a measly 20GB more storage than your last ipod. All the sudden the evil Bill Gates Grinch comes along and B!tch slaps you with a possible iMac Killer!

Personally I dislike Apple, but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect their principles. Unfortunately while that’s all said and done, Apples needs to quit smoking weed and make some more technological pushes besides being just plain mean and inspiring pc haters. Don’t get me wrong, Microsoft is known for a certain presentation style and design style, but at least they are trying to push research in various mediums and global communities - what is Apple really working on? A button, a harddrive, an OS, and wi-fi. If I worked Apple, I would wear a t-shirt that said, “Been there, redoing that - again”.Ok, so now Apple, go do what you do best and just make the same thing look prettier, again.

I am totally joking! this is really supposed to be about the HP IQ770 “Crossfire” 19-inch touchscreen with Vista. I don’t really think it can kill the iMac, but it steps up our expectations a notch. The thing is stacked with specs and adds another layer of interactivity. Basically this seems like a tablet pc on steroids with cyborg parts. Introduce a wacom style of pressure sensitivity and you got yourself a digital canvas.

“19-inch touchscreen, AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core TL-52 processor, 2GB SDRAM, 320GB drive, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600, WiFi, Bluetooth, integrated 1.3 megapixel camera, integrated FM and ATSC HDTV tuners, a DVD±RW / DVD-RAM burner with LightScribe, Pocket Media Drive bay, wireless keyboard, mouse, stylus, front media reader, and a crazy amount of ports (Ethernet, two FireWire, six USB 2.0, one with HP printer power Y-cable connector, 5.1 + digital audio out, IR out, mini-VGA, and inputs: FM coax, TV coax, ATSC, and two S-Video).”
